GOING WITH THE GOSPEL

"And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." Mark 16:15.

This commandment is given by the Lord Jesus Christ after He arose from the dead, after He was in His resurrected body. It is the great commission for us all. It is given to each and every Christian.

You may say that He is only giving this command to the twelve, but we must realize that this commandment is given to each individual.

"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." Matthew 28:19-20.

The main ministry is "going forth." It is the first GREAT ESSENTIAL. We must go after sinners. We must go into all the world. That includes every street in your city plus all the rural districts plus every farm house. This includes every crossroad and every post office.

Why would God call you to Africa unless you first win some Africans here? Why would He call you to go around the world until you first go around the block?

If you are not faithful in that which is little, you won’t be faithful in much. Jesus said that. He uses those who have been tried, tested and proven. He chooses those who prove faithful in the little things. If you can’t be faithful in winning one soul, how can you be faithful in winning one hundred? Begin where you are. A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. You must be faithful in your home town before you are called to the uttermost parts of the world.

"But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." Acts 1:8.

Many are called, but few are chosen. Matt. 20:16.

People have done most everything else, but they have left off the main essential thing. They have built church houses, high steeples, Sunday schools, Bible schools, youth camps, and soup kitchens. That is all well and good if they have put first things first. They have bought Sunday school buses and built parsonages for their pastors, but everybody seems to want to pay someone else to do the going. You can’t have a pastor to do the job that God has called you to do. No man can be your substitute. No one can take your place.

The Jehovah Witnesses, Mormons, Christian Scientists, Moslems, and Communists go with their message. Not many people go with the full gospel message. The gospel of the Kingdom must go to all the world before Jesus comes. The gospel of the Kingdom is healing the sick and casting out devils.

"And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people." Matthew 4:23.

"And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come." Matthew 24:14.

Many people are publishing a social gospel, stripped of its power, but the watered down gospel will never go into all the world and make disciples. We must follow the example that Jesus set for us.

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father." John 14:12.

"Who is own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye are healed." I Peter 2:24.

Lazy, indifferent people can never work in this great harvest field. The sluggard sleeps during harvest.

You may read your Bible, go to church, cry and pray, but never win a soul for Jesus. You may pay tithes, have family prayer, pray over your food, but never win a soul. You may pay your bills, work & support your family, but let the family be lost. You may be a good citizen, in the eyes of the world, but let your neighbors go to hell.

Have you taken them the message? If you fail to warn them, their sins will be charged to you at judgement.

"Again, when a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand." Ezekiel 3:20.

Jesus put GOING before preaching or baptizing.

We must gird ourselves with truth. We must go with the shield of faith. We must put on the breastplate of righteousness and the helmet of salvation.

"Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil." Eph. 6:11.

We must have our feet shod with the gospel of peace. Think of a soldier who put on almost all the armour. Suppose he put all this armour on except the shoes and went out with bare feet. He wouldn’t go far.

Take the gospel of peace. Put on your shoes. You must go or your not a soldier. A bare-footed soldier would turn back when he meets the first snake. Prepare to go and take the gospel. Your shoes are the "preparation of the gospel of peace."

ALL THINGS ARE NOW READY.

We must go quickly. Tomorrow may be too late for us to go. We must do more going than we do talking. We must go to every street, to every creature, every alley in our town.

We must not neglect those of another race or those of another denomination. We must go to the blind, lame, deaf, pauper, and poor person.

There is room for them all. His house is a house of prayer for "all people". Isa. 56:7. We must see that each individual person gets the invitation. It is a commandment for us to go, and not only a request.

"And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room." Luke 14:22.

Our invitation must be more than mere words. "And the Lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled." Luke 14:23.

Hurry and go after every sinner. How many guest will be present at the MARRIAGE SUPPER? You determine that!
